  • Central Coast Office Opening

    Compass Housing opened the doors to their Central Coast office, Local MP Marie Andrews officiated the opening. Various interagencies, real estate agents, tenants and other stakeholders attended and welcomed Compass to the Central Coast area. Mark Reader and Sarah Steel from Housing NSW took time out of their very busy schedules to attend the opening which we were very pleased to welcome.

  • Compass Tenant Christmas Picnic Newcastle 2009

    Compass held it's annual Christmas Tenant Picnic at Newcastle Foreshore. The event was a huge success with rides, face painting, a live band, santa, presents, and much more. There were two lucky tenants who received prizes under Compass's Tenant Incentive Program, one was for $1000 cash and the other for $500.

  • Compass Corporate Values & Planning Workshop 2009

    Compass held a Corporate Values workshop with ll staff and Directors over 2 days. This was held at Rafferty's resort. The workshop went really well with a formal introduction of Compass's Total Sustainability Program which includes Social, Environmental, Personal and Corporate Sustainability. The Executive Management and Directors also attended another day for the planning workshop.

  • Compass Tenant Christmas Picnic Central Coast 2009

    Compass held it's Central Coast Tenant Picnic at the Reptile Park. Tenants had a great time and enjoyed the BBQ. Santa arrived to give out presents and spend some time with the children, the faced painting was a hit even with some of the adults.

  • East Maitland Office Opening

    Compass opened the doors to the East Maitland Branch Office with local MP Bob Baldwin officicated the opening. Leone King, Housing NSW's Executive Director for Community Housing took time from her very busy schedule to attend the opening and show her support. Local support agencies, real estates, builders and other stakeholders also attended and welcomed Compass into the area.

    Compass opened a branch office in Broken Hill, Compass Directors, CEO and other staff flew to Broken Hill for the opening. Compass was welcomed by local agenices,tenants and other stakeholders.

    Compass Taronga Zoo Bus Trip

    Compass had a bus trip for our tenants and spent a wonderful day at Taronga Park Zoo, the bus was packed and the day was a huge hit with the children and their parents. The walk around the zoo ensured many sleepy little children on the way home and a much quieter trip home than the trip on the way to the zoo.

  • Compass Tenant Christmas Picnic 2008

    Compass held its annual tenant Christmas picnic at Newcastle Foreshore, there were more than 500 people in attendance despite the drizzly rain. Unfortunately the rides were cancelled due to the rain although there was still a live band, face painting, a healthy BBQ cooked by the Lion's club and the Heart Foundation gave out fruit salads and fresh salads. Santa was a huge hit as he gave out presents and spent time with the children.

  • Tenant BBQ - Welcome to new tenants

    Compass welcomed new tenants into a new unit complex received under part of the Australian Government’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan. This is part of the NSW Government’s commitment in supporting the growth and sustainability of the community housing sector under Planning for the Future: New directions for community housing in New South Wales 2007/08 – 2012-13 and a number of reforms signed up to by states and territories under the Australian Government’s National Affordable Housing Agreement. Housing NSW is committed to working closely with community housing providers to create a larger and more flexible housing system that will provide more housing assistance for those in need.

    Launch of Compass Housing Services

    Compass Housing Services held it's launch on 2 October 2007 at Newcastle Panthers. The Hon. Jodi McKay, MP officiated the launch. Maura Boland Housing NSW's Executive Director of Policy & Strategy took time out of her very busy schedule to attend the launch. Support agencies, real esates, tenants and many other stakeholders attended the launch. The night was a huge success and represented the successful future for Compass Housing.

  • Compass Board and Staff Planning Workshop 2008

    Compass Board and staff all attended a planning workshop at Rafferty's workshop which was held over 2 days. This was creative and positive and all staff's visions were shared.

  • Compass Turtle Talk Workshop

    Compass undertook a workshop for Aboriginal children over the School holidays in July 08 called Turtle Talk, the children learnt how to do Aboriginal art, they played many games, listened to Aboriginal stories and enjoyed the BBQ's. This workshop was funded by the Newcastle Permanent Building Society, a big thank you to the Newcastle Permanent Building Society for enablnig Compass to put this on. The children had a wonderful time.

  • Luna Park Bus Trip

    Compass tenants had a great time on the bus trip to Luna Park over the school holidays. The children and the adults enjoyed the rides, the atmosphere and the singing on the bus. The bus was packed and the day was a huge success. Fun was had by all.

  • Walking for Breast Cancer

    Staff and tenants of Newmacq Housing participated in the National Run/Walk for Breast Cancer Day, there seemed no tot be too many runners from our group and mostly just walkers, but the high spirits were still there. It was a great day and we were all happy to contribute to a worthy cause.
