Why be a member of Compass Housing Services Co Ltd?
Compass Housing Services is a unique not-for-profit organisation. Our Mission, to greatly foster growth, quality, diversity and reach in providing housing and other human services, demonstrating harmony between sound governance and business management and being a leader in the areas of personal, social, environmental and corporate sustainability.
We do this impartially and strive to deliver the greatest number of appropriate and affordable accommodation to those in need of shelter and work proactively to ensure our tenants are engaged in sustainable communities.
Projecting a strong and positive vision, Compass Housing advocates through our industry membership for an effective and relevant national policy framework, an adequate and increased supply of affordable and sustainable housing.
Compass Housing members play a vital role in fulfilling this key advocacy role, and help ensure representation of the diverse experiences and views of Australians and our tenant community. All Compass Members add their voice to our organisation and help strengthen the way we conduct business.
As a Compass Housing member, individuals may nominate to stand for the Compass Housing Board of Directors. Compass Housing also encourages its members to become involved with the organisation through participation in portfolio committees (such as our active Compass Green Group, Compass C.A.R.E Group and other Portfolio Committee), reference groups, and planning groups for our events.
Annual General Meetings are held each year and General Meetings are held from time to time in conformity to corporations’ legislation the Compass Constitution. Members are notified in writing well in advance of any General Meetings and provided the Agenda and information in that notice.
Membership forms of Compass Housing are available at your local branch office, or can be downloaded below or alternatively you can fill out the online form below. The annual cost of membership is $2.20 with an entry fee of $2.20.
Joining as a member of Compass Housing provides plenty of opportunity to have your say. Your membership also enhances Compass Housing’s capacity to achieve its mission in Australia.
Membership is from 1 July to the 30 June in each year and there is no reduction due to only being a member for part of a year. All membership fees are due by the 1 July of each year. All members are required to pay their annual membership fee and fees must be paid to be to remain a current member. Membership will automatically lapse 12 months after becoming due and may be terminated by the Board earlier if deemed appropriate due to non-payment.
