The role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) unit on a 24month part time fixed term contract, working 3 days per week. In this role, you will provide essential support to Fee-for-Service projects, ensuring project success in a person centred manner and the provision of ‘first point of contact’ services to tenants, primary contacts, guardians and other stakeholders, based on choice and control principles.

Your day-to-day, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Sharing knowledge and coordinate fee-for-service project in providing person centred service delivery to tenants and their families including those with complex needs;

  • Participating in project meetings, maintaining documentation and managing project schedule;

  • Conducting and coordinating sign up of tenants and/or transfers, including explanation of Tenancy Relations Act, Accommodation Agreements and Resident Information packs;

  • Monitoring and following-up on rent contributions and /or arrears;

  • Maintaining the Customer Database / Greentree database;

  • Working collaboratively with SDA team members across Australia (Head Office based in Newcastle) to provide person-centred support to tenants;

  • General administration tasks as required.

About you

You will be an organised and creative administrator who possess high attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a pro-active approach to all your tasks.

You will have demonstrated experience in working with a diverse range of stakeholders in a highly confidential environment with the ability to adapt to changing requests and deadlines.

Essential Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role; you will possess the following;

  • Current knowledge of NDIS, demonstrated experience in navigating the complexities of NDIS and what SDA/SIL means in this context;

  • Working knowledge of disability, disability services and service providers;

  • Experience working for a provider of a SDA with direct engagement with residents, families and SIL providers:

  • Ability to work flexible hours to suite the needs of the service and people we support;

  • Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel as required to fulfil the requirements of the position;

  • Minimum 2years experience working in an administration role including high volume data entry;

  • Demonstrated high attention to detail and the ability to use initiative and meet deadlines;

  • Ability to display sensitivity, empathy, discretion and diplomacy;

  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite in particular WORD, Excel and Outlook;

Demonstrated understanding of sustainability through contributing to more efficient workplace processes

All candidates must be willing to undertake and pass a National Criminal History check as part of the recruitment process, have a current drivers license with a willingness to travel for business purposes and possess an understanding of issues affecting socially disadvantaged groups including those experiencing or at risk of homelessness, people with a disability and people from a non-English speaking background.
